When I'm doing mosaic for my very first time in class, I realized that it isn't just about cutting and pasting. It has a flow to it. From then on as I did my own mosaic, I begin to realize the art of doing it.
As you can see, I did a butterfly and the colours I used are vibrant and attractive. As we all know, butterfly is one of the insects that is very carefree and the unique colours on it's wings is truly magnificent. The reason why I choose butterfly is because it reflects on how I feel in my life. At our age right now, we are still under the protection of our parents. In our adult lives, we will be left to defend for ourselves. In other words, we will have to learn how to be independent not only in financial ways but in every aspects of our lives. Like a butterfly, we are able to soar as high as possible which I hope to be in my future career.
The unique colours of it's wings makes it special and rare from other insects. This also reflects me in terms of being unique and I stand in my own point of view. I don't get influenced easily which is why I used colours such as fuchsia and yellow on it's wings. The colours are outstanding and attractive. As for the body of it, I used three colours such as dark purple, light purple and brown. You might find a piece of brown coloured paper being out of nowhere. However, I feel that why must we restrict ourselves to only the same two colours as life itself is neither perfect. In life if we don’t try anything, how are we suppose to know the ending of it.
In the background, you can clearly see the typical colours of a sky –light blue and dark blue. No matter how much I want my life to be perfect in every ways, it can never be true in reality. Therefore I picture it in such a way that no matter how far the butterfly flies, it looks as though it is flying in the same sky with nothing to worry about.
The texture used are mainly smooth as it will make the butterfly appear gentle and it looks more perfect in that fairy tale imagination I have. You also realize that there are different shapes and sizes. Some are squares, rectangles and even triangles. This is to show that without the imperfections of anything, life wouldn’t be a little more perfect than it used to be.
As crappy as the report i did for kathie. haha.. Definitely a member of the WG clan.
